ADSR Challenge #4: Sprouting Up

I loved this challenge and I knew exactly what photos I was gonna use to create the LO for this challenge. I started with a small batch of photos and couldnt figure out how to use them all so I took the one that seemed to matter most and used that. Sprouting Up was created using Amanda Thorderson's A Whisper of Spring. Fonts: Lynda Cursive, Liorah, TeletypeThe letter "G" was created using Amanda Thorderson's A Whisper of Spring, too. Journaling reads: Sprouting Up You made it! You made it! I couldnt have been prouder of you. You tried and tried to climb that 3 rung ladder at the park. You did it! You were so proud. This is the photo I took of you when you accmomplished your goal. Watching you achieve this small feat made my heart smile. "Goals: There is no telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There is no telling what you can do when you believe in them. There is no telling what will happen when you act upon them." ~Jim Rohn

Finally--my layout!

Man, this was a hard one! I knew I had photos of the Hill Aerospace Museum, the only problem was--they were regular photos so i would have to scan them in. Not that big of a problem--except I couldn't find the stupid things! i've spent two days looking for them because idiot me--i thought i'd put them up in a safe place that i wouldn't forget! Well, of course, i forgot! Finally found them tonight, got them scanned, and made a layout!

My freakish computer won't let me see Chris' layout, but i'm sure it's fantastic! Everything she does is amazing! i love her layouts--i was so excited that we were going to be racing partners!

In 1996, Utah celebrated their centennial. To celebrate, we visited every county in Utah. We took photos and souveniers from each place and my dream is to finish a scrapbook of it. I started on it 10 years ago, but got depressed having to make 4 pages of every single county--one for each child plus myself. So i gave up. However, now with digi scrapping, i see it in my future plans! So i'm really getting excited! ok, so without further ado--here's my layout entitled "Hill Aerospace Museum." I know--i have a way with words. isn't it the most creative title you've ever seen! it just sings, doesn't it?! LOL!

I used my new kit "America the Beautiful" to make this layout. The font is Glass Gauge. You can find the kit here.

ADSR1:The National Museum of the United States Army by Chris (hutchie)

So, When I heard what the challenge was I was freaking out. Couldnt think of a place to I would like to visit...not a museum anyway. Then I thought... you know after being a military wife for so long I was like you know I wonder if the museum is done yet for the US Army so I did a little research and found out it is not yet finished. Got a ways to go too...several years until it is complete. But Id decided I would go for it. I would scrap about The National Museum of the US Army...not much out there in the way of photos but they did have a "logo" and some artists renderings. So I snagged a few of those. I am in the process of figuring out how to credit those. So far my answer is 'no credit.' I also along the way answered a military, should I say Army, trivia question right and won a book... A War to Be Won : Fighting the Second World War. By Williamson Murray and Allan R. Millett, Harvard Press, 2000. I am sure my husband will enjoy it. Here is the link... http://www.armyhistory.org/index.aspx Scroll to the bottom and these is a lil thing with the question and the answer and my name in lights... LOL Anyway... I took some quotes that I love and scream ARMY to me and a couple of the artists renderings and the logo and some barbed wire and VIOLA! My first ADSR challenge is finished!

They were a family." Font: Appendix3Journaling: Font: Bernard Fashion As a wife to a US Army soldier I can not wait for this museum to open. The US Army has an amazing history. I can not wait for the day that I can go and learn more about these men and women who live everyday with such selflessness

Yippee! We're Gearing up!

We've been receiving emails from the ADSR listserve all day now, so we're raring to go! If i can get my stupid blinkie to work, i'll be even happier! I've had so many problems with it, I think Chris is starting to wonder what kind of person she aligned herself with!

I've been organizing my scrapping supplies so everything is ready for the race! I'm hoping to be in Florida visiting my family in August, so I'll have to pack along a ED and my laptop so i can scrap there! My mom's going to have to get her internet working or i'll have to stay at a hotel! (hee hee) Gotta find wireless on the beach somehow too!

Looking forward to next week!

WE ARE OFFICIAL!!!!

Wooo hoo! Just heard back, we are official for the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race Season 2!!!! YEA!

A Little About Chris!

My name is Christina, but go by Chris. And I go by hutchie or hutchy in online communities. I am a mother to 3 kids: TJ (9), Kailynne (7) and Lainie who turned 2 on Valentine's Day. I am also a Army wife to an US Army soldier, Tim currently deployed to Iraq. I come from a family with a strong military background. I even graduated high school in Okinawa, Japan. I love animals! I have 2 dogs, a cat, 2 ferrets, 2 hamsters, a rabbit and a ton of fish! People refer to my home as "The Petting Zoo"! I love to scrap to capture and hold memories of my favorite people and animals so I can treasure them forever. I have been digi scrapping since June of 2006. WOW! I cant believe it has been a year already! I am on Angela Young's CT, Digitals Store CT at digitalscrapbookpages.com. I am also a member of Digitalscrapbboking.de's Welcome Committe and CT member. I also create Brag Books and Quick Pages for designers, too.

A Little About Amanda!

This month, I am celebrating my digi scrapping one year anniversary! I spend too much time scrapping and designing and not enough time cleaning my house! I am a designer at Digitals—been doing that since November 2006. My favorite designers are Dana Frantz (the queen of funky grunge), Berna Datema (a true original), Dea Spina (not only one of my favorite designers—but also one of my favorite people), and Michelle Coleman (dang, that woman can design paper!) My favorite subjects to scrap are my darling children—Steven, 18; Corry, 15 ½, Christina, 13 (going on 16); and Emily, 18 months. I’ll enjoy scrapping them even more when they are back in school and out of my hair! My husband and I will celebrate our 21st anniversary next month. (we may have to postpone the celebration until after the amazing digi scrapping race! Priorities, you know! When I’m not designing, scrapping, or avoiding housework, I am a social worker. I work as a victim’s advocate on the hospital response team at Rape Recovery Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love the work that I do and digi scrapping is the perfect release for me!

We are registered on time for the ADSR!!!

We got our registration in and we beat the clock! Woo Hoo! We are team Digi Darlings and we do serious digi damage! Im Chris and my partner is Amanda. I can not wait and I am so excited for the race to begin! I have never looked forward to a race so much!
Now we are waiting on the OFFICIAL word that we are registered!
